Parking Car Garage Model
Maike Cheng, a student at the Academy of Art, used acrylic sheets to create his model. The project is for a midterm architecture project, which is a parking garage located at 12th and Market. He used 1/16" black acrylic, 1/16" clear acrylic, and 1/8" square clear acrylic rods as columns. Each floor via laser cutter cut and the 1/8" rods glued to the first floor. Then there were holes cut on every level that allowed each additional floor slipped in. He used a heat gun to bend the circular ramps and used chipboard placeholders to keep every level up as the acrylic cement dried. The final model size is 18" x 24" x 5".
