Water Wheel Garden Fountain

Harry Gunderson designed this unique garden fountain. The garden fountain has an 18" diameter, acrylic overshot water wheel. It was built from scratch using 3/32" thick acrylic sheets and TAP Acrylic Solvent Cement. A length of 1" "L" type copper pipe is the axle, drawer slide rollers are the bearings, and two pieces of brass strapping serve as the axle stops. The water wheel sets atop a standard half wine barrel "pond" (which holds 35 gallons) and uses a strong aquarium powerhead as the water pump.
