Fiberglass Cloths
Fiberglass Cloths are fine fibers are spun from molten glass, gathered into yarn, and woven into a strong, pliable glass fabric. Fiberglass Fabric can be folded, rolled, or draped, like any other loosely woven fabric, and is chemically transformed into solid sheets of tremendous strength by the addition of epoxy or polyester resins. In fact, it is the Fiberglass Fabric, which produces the strength, not the resin. Looking for resins? Find Epoxy Resins here. Find Polyester Resins here.
‘Glass’ is used because it will not rot, rust, or corrode. Its fine fibers absorb resin. All TAP fiberglass fabrics are especially suited for glassing boats, laminating decks, lining tanks, and all applications requiring maximum resistance to moisture, impact, and abrasion. All are Volan-treated for maximum strength and ease of ‘wetting out’ (saturating).

Fiberglass is used in many different industries due to its versatile advantages. Fiberglass is non-flammable, has a high temperature and humidity resistance and is resistant to chemical and biological effects. In addition, it has dimensional stability, good thermal properties that mean heat dissipates faster than other fibers, high tensile strength, thigh thermal endurance and low moisture absorption.
Fiberglass fabric is affordable, easy to handle and easy to maintain. Fiberglass fabric has a wide range of weaves, sizes and finishes, which makes it popular for a wide range of industrial uses. Best Collection of Fiberglass Fabrics
Our selection includes E-glass, S-2 glass, and multiple types of tape. We carry lightweight, midweight, standard, and heavyweight cloths made from strands of continuous glass filaments that are plied and twisted into yarn. With a standard chrome finish (Volan), all the boat cloths we carry are suitable with polyester, vinyl-ester, and epoxy resins. Our modified twill is ideally suited to complex shapes because it has excellent draping ability. Deck cloth may be better suited to applications in which transparency is important. If you would like to avoid a resin-rich laminate on your boat, our woven roving cloth may be the best solution.S-2 glass is slightly stronger and stiffer than E-glass, making it popular for surfboards, windsurfing boards, or anything where a high strength-to-weight ratio is required. Between two kinds of glass cloth, you can meet the needs of whatever project awaits you. In addition to fiberglass fabrics, we also offer an array of fiberglass tapes that can be used for glass seams, repairing broken masts, or reinforcing other laminates throughout the automotive or aviation industries.
