Foam Insulation Materials Store

We tend to neglect the presence and importance of polyurethane in everyday life. While polyurethane foam is commonly found as thermal insulation in walls and floors, it has numerous uses around the home and outdoors. This solid “flexible foam” offers cushioning and compression when needed yet is incredibly tough. It’s easy to use as well — just pour or spray the liquid insulation foam into an enclosed area and let it expand for a perfect fit.

At TAP Plastics, we are committed to educating our customers about the advantages of plastics and resins while supplying one of the largest selections of quality products available. We offer an assortment of insulation materials that can be used to sculpt a variety of art projects, theatre props, and so much more. Foam materials are also used to support our bodies in mattresses, seats, and upholstered furniture. The possibilities are endless with polyurethane insulation. Explore our selection today!

Polyurethane Insulation Supply and More

We proudly offer a wide range of insulation materials for sale and several kit sizes to choose from. TAP X-30 Polyurethane Foam is rigid and dense, with the capability of expanding up to 30 times its original liquid volume. Some customers choose our polyurethane foam to make watercrafts and other projects. Others fill cavities in heated garages, crawl spaces and automotive seats. DIY enthusiasts can also use these insulation materials in tooling or making molds. In addition to its thermal insulation, polyurethane foam also has superior sound insulation, making it good for soundproofing rooms and studios.

Our proprietary foam materials are unaffected by gasoline, oil, solvents, or other petroleum products. With a flotation factor of 60 pounds per cubic foot, you can safely make watercrafts that are protected from noise, abrasion, extreme temperature changes, and much more. Polyurethane foam is easy to cover with fiberglass, polyester, and other epoxy resins, letting you make surfboards, paddleboard and other floatable items. It’s also a great way to make furniture and statues that are a fraction of the weight as if they were 100% epoxy.

To use TAP X-30 and similar products, simply mix equal amounts of resin and catalyst. Stir the mixture vigorously and pour it into an enclosed area, leaving plenty of room for expansion. Before working with foam, you should protect the work surface with plastic film, because it can soak through newspaper or cardboard. Also note a power mixer is required if you are mixing more than a half-gallon at once.
