Devcon Plastic Weld Liquid

For decades, one of plastic fabrication and repair challenges has been getting materials to stick to each other. The Devcon plastic weld system puts an end to this hassle. Use their plastic welding kit on a variety of similar and dissimilar everyday plastics, including acrylic, polycarbonate, vinyl and PVC. It has good gap-filling to handle non-flush edges and uneven materials.

For more than 70 years, Devcon has developed products that make it easier to work with plastics. Their industrial-strength plastic welder is ideal for repairing automotive parts, PVC pipes, containers, display stands and much more. Welding glue can be used for fabrication, too. Unlike many other structural welding systems, it doesn’t require high heat or specialty tools, making it popular among DIYers.

How Devcon Plastic Welder Works

This two-part plastic welder glue consists of an adhesive resin and an activator/hardener in separate tubes with a 1:1 formula. The plunger dispenses both parts in equal amounts on the included plastic mixing plate; you can also use cardboard or another disposable hard item. Once mixed using the included paddle, you have up to five minutes to apply the plastic weld epoxy before it starts setting.

Devcon Plastic Glue Welder also bonds non-plastics such as ceramic, wood, styrene, concrete and even some metals, letting you tackle an array of home, business and industrial projects. The manufacturer recommends cleaning and drying each surface before applying the glue welder. You can also roughen them slightly with sandpaper for better bonding.

High-Strength Plastic Welding

When you have a good plastic welder, it opens many more possibilities for your plastic fabrication work. This liquid plastic welder has excellent resistance to impacts, peeling, weathering, solvents and changes in temperature or humidity, making it usable in many environments. The minimal surface preparation, 1:1 formula and wide working temperature range make it easy to use. Note this welding adhesive is not UV-resistant; as such, you will need to use it in a protected area or apply UV treatment.

Devcon Plastic Welder is a fast-acting solution when you need it. The weld will set in 10-15 minutes, be functional after one hour and reach full strength in 24 hours. At this point, it has a 3,500 PSI tensile strength. Leave the weld as the original cream color or drill, sand and paint it for a pristine finish. It can be mixed with pigments and acrylic paints as well.

Easy DIY Plastic Welds with Industrial Quality

Quickly fix up plastic objects or create new ones by welding them together in minutes. Devcon waterproof plastic welders come with a syringe for easy application. It’s non-sagging as well for wall and overhead jobs. For best results, store the plastic weld glue at temperatures between 55 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, mix the two parts thoroughly before application and only mix as much as you can use during the working time window.
