Hexcel 354 Aramid custom rolls are a rugged solution when you need a high-strength, low-weight fabrication material as an alternative to fiberglass. It’s used in a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, marine, sporting goods, tools and apparel. Whether you’re building a canoe, reinforcing pipes or making protective clothing such as bulletproof vests, Kevlar cloth will hold up to the most intense conditions.

What is Aramid Fiber

This polyamide fabric can be used with epoxy and vinyl-ester resins to create a rigid final product. Sold under names such as Kevlar and Nomex, aramidic cloth has high tensile strength, impact resistance, tear resistance and dimensional stability. It’s also resistant to extreme temperatures; the fibers can withstand up to 500 degrees before they break down. Other properties of aramid fabric include excellent moisture resistance, chemical resistance and insulation — all with a low density for when you need to reduce total weight.

At TAP Plastics, you can purchase Aramid 354 cloth that weighs 4.9 ounces per square yard and has a 1:1 warp-to-fill ratio. This offers a good balance of performance and workability for DIY or commercial projects. The material is 50 inches wide and is sold per linear yard; use the “Qty” field to enter how many yards of fabric you need. Bulk rolls are available as well for professionals.
