When working with polyester resins, achieving a tack-free, sandable surface is essential for professional results—especially when painting or applying additional layers. TAP Surface Curing Agent is a must-have additive that ensures a complete surface cure by sealing off the resin from air during the curing process.

Without a curing agent (often referred to as "wax"), polyester resins may feel hard to the touch yet remain incompletely cured at the surface, leading to poor sanding performance and potential bonding issues. This additive prevents that by floating a thin, waxy layer to the surface as the resin cures—allowing for a hard, fully cured finish ready for sanding, painting, or recoating.

  3. Dosage: Use approximately ½ oz per quart of resin (or 15 drops per oz).

  4. Proceed to apply the resin as usual.

  5. Once cured, sand the surface to remove the wax layer before adding paint or more resin.

Storage & Handling Tips:

  • Store at 60°F (15°C) or higher

  • If the product appears cloudy, warm the container in hot water and stir or shake to clarify before use

  • Always mix thoroughly before adding to resin
