Acrylic Donor Wall

Acrylic Donor Wall
The Chabot Space and Science Center (www.chabotspace.org), is a longtime customer of TAP, and recently asked our San Leandro location for help in bringing their Donor Wall to fruition. For this project, TAP laser-cut 93 various-size pieces of 1/8 inch clear acrylic—the laser precisely cut the .25 inch cutouts and provided a smooth, finished edge. The donor wall consists of three elements: the front pieces are the laser-cut acrylic, the middle piece is transparent Mylar printed with text, and the colorful third piece is Dichrolam, which is an acrylic version of dichroic glass. (Dichrolam is produced by John Blazy Designs). The Chabot Space and Science Center was extremely pleased with the final result and noted “the acrylic plates fit like a glove in the fasteners. Thanks for the great work!”
