The Clown

The Clown
This scary, surrealistic called the “Clown”, is the latest work by the well-known artist, Mark Walker, from the Seattle, Washington area. He made last season’s piece “The Incredible Hulk”. As he did with the “Hulk:, Mark used Jolly King Modeling Clay (which he claims as the best in the market) to sculpt the mouth and the many faces that are hiding amongst all the nooks and crannies of this creepy little character. He used regular silicone caulking to make a two-part mold with a plaster backing. After the mold was cured he cleaned out all the clay and used Quik Cast to create the face and head. After de-molding, he removed some of the teeth and fangs and replaced them with bronze cast pieces. Next the spooky clown was cleaned, primed, and painted with acrylic paint and air brushed with Testors model paint.

The Clown stands 27” tall and 13” wide, including the base, that is a pseudo game board with creepy little baby doll heads in white bronze. The clown was displayed at an event called “Conjoined 3… The Final Chapter” at the Copro Gallery in Los Angeles.
