Portable Pool Tank
Best escape from the heat? A mermaid tank! This is a pretty cool (see what we did there?) project courtesy of Michael Ripley with Ripley Creations. He is a customer of TAP Santa Rosa and shared his completed creation with us. This tank was on display at the Northern California Pirate Festival over Father's Day weekend.
From Michael: "Here are a few shots of the 1" thick 4x8 acrylic Mermaid tank built by me with some of your products and know how. This tank is roughly 957 gallons that's roughly 7,981 lbs of water. It has about 3' of acrylic seam reinforcement. The aluminum is 4'x4' wide x 1/4 thick extruded. The trailer was an old snow cat trailer that I converted using 2'x2' angle steel welded in place for supports and then used 3/16 plate to skin the top. The last layer is a dense 3/4 rubber horse mat bolted in place. Thank you TAP Plastics from Ripley Creations."
